Spending a fair bit of time online, sometimes I look at the free offers just for a laugh. What do I find?.. this offer is free as soon as you pay 29.95 Or you can get a free trial of software, all you have to do is buy another software for more than the program is worth.
I don't know about you, but when I see the word free in bold, italic, special font, animated and flashing red, I'm led to believe this is something free.
It's fine if you don't have anything free, not all do, but if it says free in several places then truth dictates that it is free.
Now I'm not sure if this is some new 'marketing tactic' being spread by viral means, or if it is in fact just plain rude and deceiving. Another possibility is that it's both.

Want to hear something I find irritatingly funny at "our" other site? Catherine's Plus Size clothing store advertises there - on a site where people take meds that often cause weight gain. Brilliant marketing I suppose, but offensive at the same time!

Actually IM the most brilliant marketing is offensive. They call it branding their name and it makes you remember them.
I do remember them too as a name not to choose when looking for non-offensive competitors.
